Design is more than looking good

If I were to design a sports car that looks like a Maserati but it steers like a barn door, has the power of a lawn mower and stops like an oil tanker, would it be a good design?

Alternatively if I were to design a car that holds the road like Ferrari, has the power of a BMW and stops like a brick wall, but looks a little like a ten year old Dodge Caravan, would that be better design?

So it is with graphic design, it's no good looking pretty if it doesn't tell you anything, and it's no good being stuffed with information if you can't find what you need to know.

A well designed document will get you excited about it's subject. Are you excited about your documents?
